My original post was to be a sort of list of highs, lows, and points in between from last year. I won't bore you with resolutions but offer up what I am looking forward to in 2014. I hope for more down time for myself and with Eric, traveling more, and blasting my eardrums at more concerts. Vacation plans for spring and summer are beginning to take shape. I doubt my concert-going schedule will parallel last year's but I'm hoping to attend concerts for Haim and Bastille in April. I might even convince Eric to attend more shows with me.
Since my last post, I've continued to knit Eric's blanket again. I'm pretty sure over 5 years has passed since I started it - maybe even more? I've unraveled it twice but I finally settled for a bamboo basket weave pattern and there's no turning back now since it's about 75% done. I want to finish it.It's been unseasonably warm since Thanksgiving but that didn't stop me from firing up the oven for the usual holiday cooking and baking. I made some family favorites such as seven layer cookies and chicken divan for some of the holiday potlucks I attended. I've been eating these at family gatherings since I was little but this was the first time I made them. It's about time these recipes found a place in my recipe box.
I haven't made any time yet for any random/useless art projects yet. I'm a little behind with reviewing and organizing the photos I've taken for the last half of the year so I need to work on that, especially with photos from my mom's 80th birthday and a trip to Washington D.C.
All in all, I think my 2014 is off to a good start.
With that, I leave you with a shot of San Francisco City Hall lit up to support the 49ers in the post-season. Hooray for a victory over the Packers!
